Squash Stars

Lichfield Squash Club is delighted to be an England Squash Squash Stars delivery partner. We will be looking to deliver our next programme in Autumn 2024.

What is Squash Stars?

Aimed at 5 to 9 year olds, Squash Stars is a new junior beginners’ programme designed by England Squash. This six week programme focuses on guiding children in skills such as hand-eye coordination, racket work, movement, balance and match play.

Each Squash Stars session is led by our trained Squash Stars leaders, who are also England Squash qualified coaches.

Squash Stars will give your child the chance to explore, play, and make friends in a fun and safe setting.

What does your Squash Star get?

For just £20, your Squash Star will get six sessions and a Squash Stars t-shirt straight to your door. All other equipment, such as rackets, balls and goggles will be provided by the Club.

Why should my child try Squash Stars?

Squash will leave your child beaming from ear to ear. As it’s suitable for kids of all backgrounds, shapes, and sizes, squash provides an inclusive space where they can truly belong. It’s also an indoor sport, so they can avoid the unpredictable British weather and stay warm on our courts! By taking part in Squash Stars, your child will benefit in many ways:

  • They’ll have tonnes of fun whilst being active and learning something new.
  • It’s an opportunity to make friends outside of school.
  • They can put their new skills into practice and head to the court as a family, giving you an opportunity for extra quality time together.
  • The sessions boost confidence and encourages them to reach for the stars.

Lichfield Squash Club Junior Academy

Lichfield Squash Club is excited to to have launched our new Junior Squash Academy to introduce squash to young people and help them to develop a lifelong love of the sport.

What does Lichfield Squash Club Junior Academy offer?

We are offering coaching and game play sessions to teach children aged 11-16 all the main squash fundamental skills, including hand/eye coordination, balance, movement, racket work, squash rules and match play. The emphasis is very much on learning through having fun.

Junior Academy sessions take place on Saturdays at 10:00am to 11:00am and are led by our England Squash qualified coaches, all of whom are DBS checked and have undertaken safeguarding and first aid training.

What does is cost and what will a Junior Academy participant receive?

Session cost is £5 per player. Rackets, balls and eyewear are provided.

How do I reserve a place for my child in the Junior Squash Academy?

All players are offered free Junior Membership of the Club and you can then book your child onto the sessions using our online booking system.
